Additional comments:
This approximately 6 meter long Whale Shark was located approximately 7 nautical miles southeast of Oceanographers Canyon off the New England coast, approximately 125 miles southeast of Nantucket , MA, USA. The shark was not feeding, and had a significantly deformed tail as seen in the photo but otherwise appeared to be healthy and swimming well. It was a female.
